Code of Conduct and Security Guidelines for
Future We Want Model United Nations (FWWMUN)
At Future We Want Model United Nations (FWWMUN), we are committed to creating a professional, inclusive, and secure environment that supports our educational mission. All participants—including Delegates, Head Delegates, Faculty Advisors, Delegation Leaders, Observers, Secretariat, and Staff—must adhere to the highest standards of professionalism in speech, actions, and appearance. The following guidelines establish clear expectations to ensure the safety, integrity, and success of our conferences.
General Standards of Professionalism and Integrity
Ethical Conduct

Integrity in Engagement: Honesty and transparency are expected in all interactions. Misrepresentation of roles or information is prohibited.

Respect for Cultural Sensitivity: Embrace and respect the cultural diversity of participants. Avoid language, gestures, or behaviors that may offend others.

Anti-Corruption Measures: Offering, soliciting, or accepting bribes or favors to influence conference outcomes is strictly forbidden.
Behavior Beyond the Conference

Off-Site Conduct: Maintain professionalism in public spaces, during excursions, and on social media. Actions that harm FWWMUN’s reputation will result in disciplinary action.

Social Media Ethics: Avoid sharing inappropriate, offensive, or confidential content related to FWWMUN.
Safety and Security Measures
Emergency Preparedness

Emergency Plans: Delegations must designate a point person to manage emergencies and ensure awareness of evacuation routes and protocols.

Safety Briefing: A mandatory safety briefing will be conducted at the opening session, covering venue-specific emergency procedures.

Crisis Communication: Participants should save the contact details of organizers and local emergency services. A 24/7 helpline will be available.
Identification and Access Control

Conference Badges: Badges must be worn at all times within conference venues. Report lost badges immediately for reissuance.

Restricted Areas: Only authorized personnel may access restricted zones, such as Secretariat spaces.

Guest Registration: Guests must register with organizers in advance and adhere to the Code of Conduct.
Venue Security Collaboration

Collaboration with Authorities: FWWMUN works closely with venue security and local law enforcement.

Security Checks: Bag checks and screenings may be conducted at entry points.

Surveillance: CCTV systems will actively monitor venues and host hotels.
Provisions for All Attendees

Treat everyone, including non-FWWMUN hotel guests, with courtesy and respect at all times, including on social media and electronic communications.

Focus on participation in FWWMUN activities while enjoying other amenities responsibly.

Disruptive behavior in Committee sessions or hotel facilities is prohibited.

Respect academic integrity; plagiarism is strictly forbidden.

Alcohol is not allowed in Committee sessions. Drink responsibly and adhere to the host country’s laws on alcohol consumption.

The possession or use of illicit drugs is prohibited. Violations will be referred to local authorities.

Adhere to the Dress Code and maintain professionalism in attire.

Respect the property of the United Nations, host hotels, and other facilities.
Roles and Expectations
Delegates
-
Represent the interests and policies of the assigned country. Respect the opinions and ideas of fellow delegates.

Collaborate constructively with other participants.
Head Delegates
-
Follow the Code of Conduct and fulfill advisory roles when applicable.
-
Attend and participate in Head Delegates meetings.
Faculty Advisors
-
Guide students to maintain professionalism and diplomacy.
-
Observe Committee sessions quietly without direct involvement in resolution writing or debates.

Avoid grading policies that pressure students to act against their assigned country’s stance. Attend Faculty Advisors meetings if applicable.
Observers
-
Adhere to the same expectations as other attendees. Observers may not be enrolled university students or Faculty Advisors.
Addressing Undiplomatic Behavior, Harassment, and Discrimination
Conflict Resolution

Disrespectful behavior should first be addressed directly between attendees or through Faculty Advisors/Head Delegates.

Persistent issues may be reported to organizers via Information Services.
Zero Tolerance for Harassment

Sexual harassment and discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, religion, age, or disability are prohibited. Violations will result in disciplinary measures, including removal from the conference.

Sexual violence, including rape and assault, will be reported to law enforcement. Victims are encouraged to contact both local authorities and conference organizers.

General descriptions of behavior that may be considered sexual harassment can be found in the UN’s Code of Conduct.
Reporting Mechanisms

A secure, anonymous online platform is available for reporting misconduct.

All reports will be reviewed by an ethics committee and addressed appropriately.
Dress Code
-
Professional business attire is required: suits, dress shirts, ties, slacks/skirts, and dress shoes. Dresses and skirts must be knee-length. Attire should reflect the participant’s self-identified gender.

Casual clothing such as jeans, sneakers, and athletic wear is not permitted.
-
Traditional attire is allowed if considered professional business dress in the home country.
Faculty Advisors, Delegation Leaders, Observers, and volunteer staff must also adhere to the professional dress code.
Health and Wellbeing
Medical Support

On-site medical personnel will be available. Notify organizers of any medical conditions or emergencies.

Confidential mental health support services will be accessible.
Health Protocols

Adhere to hygiene measures such as hand sanitization and mask mandates, if applicable. Report illnesses or injuries promptly.
Technology Use and Data Security

Use only the official FWWMUN Wi-Fi networks for secure connectivity.
-
Unauthorized recordings or misuse of digital platforms will result in disciplinary action.

Personal data collected during registration will be protected in compliance with international standards.
Recognition and Accountability
FWWMUN reserves the right to ban violators from further participation and restrict future registration for individuals or delegations unable to uphold these standards. By adhering to these guidelines, participants contribute to the integrity and success of FWWMUN as a platform for global education and diplomacy.
