Future We Want MUN: Global Initiative for Young Leaders

Inspired by the landmark 2012 Rio+20 Resolution, The Future We Want, the Future We Want Global Initiative for Young Leaders (FWW) stands today as one of the world’s largest and most impactful efforts to empower youth. At its core, FWWMUN is dedicated to fostering a united international community, advancing a sustainable future, and championing the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

To maximize its impact, FWWMUN has strategically identified 10 key goals from the 17 SDGs, prioritizing areas directly related to youth empowerment and education to guide its mission and initiatives.

The indispensable role of youth in global progress has been underscored by UN high-level officials, who recognize Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and youth-led NGOs as essential in advocating for the SDGs at the national and community levels. In this spirit, FWWMUN collaborates closely with organizations committed to shaping The Future We Want, addressing global challenges through shared effort and collective action.

Core Values: Inclusivity and Diversity

At the heart of FWWMUN lies a steadfast commitment to inclusivity and diversity. As the world’s only fully inclusive Model United Nations, FWWMUN ensures equal opportunities for participation, welcoming individuals from all countries and backgrounds to engage and thrive.

Global Impact and Reach

Between 2018 and 2024, FWW’s quality-driven programs engaged more than 32,000 youth and experts, generating initiatives that positively impacted over 2.8 million individuals across continents. By cultivating a global network of changemakers, FWW continues to drive meaningful progress in addressing the most pressing issues of our time.

Empowering the Next Generation of Leaders

Today, FWWMUN is the world’s largest Model United Nations initiative, offering innovative training programs that bridge the gap between youth and real-world United Nations diplomacy. Through its MUN Academy, participants develop essential skills in leadership, critical thinking, and diplomacy, empowering them to enact positive change in their communities and beyond.

FWWMUN is a program organized and sponsored by the Italian Diplomatic Academy, an NGO officially associated with the United Nations Department of Global Communications (DGC), and managed by the World Council for Youth and Diplomacy, a New York-based global educational NGO. Together, these institutions ensure the highest standards of excellence, fostering a generation of leaders ready to shape a better, more sustainable world.
